The winners’ engraving
For the first time in its history, the ASM CLERMONT AUVERGNE (the rugby team of Clermont-Ferrand city) won the Bouclier de BRENNUS on the 30 of May 2010. The Bouclier de Brennus, or Brennus Shield in English, is a trophy awarded to the winners of the French rugby union domestic league since 1892. Since then the name of the winning team is added each year.
The technique used for engraving the date and the name of the victorious team on the brass plate is mechanical engraving with put in paint. For an optimum drying it is necessary to put it in an oven.
France 3, a French national TV channel, was there for the event: view on the France 3 Auvergne website the report realized by France Télévision during the engraving process.
